Repo Swap — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
Repo Swap does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
How it works
The extension reads the URL of your current browser tab to extract a GitHub owner and repository name (e.g., owner/repo from github.com/owner/repo). It then offers you a menu of tool destinations. When you click one, it opens a new tab with the transformed URL.
Data collected
None. Repo Swap has no backend server, no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party services. The GitHub URL you are viewing is processed entirely in your browser and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Local storage
The extension stores one boolean preference locally in your browser (whether to open tools in a new window vs. a new tab). This value never leaves your device.
Third parties
When you click a tool destination, your browser navigates to that third-party service's URL. The data shared with that service is limited to what is encoded in the URL itself (the public owner/repo path). Repo Swap has no control over how those services handle your data.
